Ortho-Bionomy® Fundamentals: Spine and Pelvis covers Ortho-Bionomy history, philosophy and basic concepts. In this class you will observe and practice specific techniques for releasing imbalances in the neck, thoracic spine and ribcage, lumbar spine, pelvic girdle and sacrum. These techniques result in the release of pain and neuromuscular tension patterns and promote an expanded range of motion, increased circulation and a greater sense of well-being. Ortho-Bionomy® Fundamentals: Spine and Pelvis (also known as "Phase Four for the Spine") is one of two foundation and prerequisite classes for all further training in Ortho-Bionomy, and is the optimal introductory course.
Ortho-Bionomy® techniques are highly effective, easy to learn, easy on your body, and combine well with other treatments. You will discover ways to:
* Help relieve pain gently, without causing discomfort
* Work with common problems such as whiplash injuries, low back pain, sciatica
* Release sensitive (trigger) points with little or no effort
* Experience and understand the natural reflexes in the body
* Develop your sensitivity to the subtle, structural changes that promote healing
Instructor:
Lynne Marotta is a Registered Instructor with the Society of Ortho-Bionomy International®. She has been actively practicing therapeutic bodywork for over 15 years in her hometown of Leonia, New Jersey. Lynne began her study of Ortho-Bionomy in 2002 and was fortunate to have studied with many instructors throughout the Ortho-Bionomy community. For the past 22 years Lynne has been an International Master teacher of Callanetics. She brings her knowledge of movement into her Ortho-Bionomy practice as well as her style of teaching this work. Lynne is a member of the N.Y.C. OB-Lab.
