Maj-Lis Nash, LMT
Co-Owner and Institutional Director
Maj-Lis is the co-owner and Institutional Director at MBI as well as a senior instructor. A 1997 graduate of ITMM (now MBI) she ran her own massage therapy clinic and taught for ITMM from 2001 until 2007 when she purchased ITMM with her husband, Daryl, and renamed it Mind Body Institute. In 2003 Daryl and her opened the Mind/Body Connection, a massage supply store and continuing education center that operates along side MBI now. She volunteered at both the state and national level with AMTA for 20 years, and served as the AMTA TN chapter president for 7 years.
Daryl Nash, B.A.
Co-Owner and Executive Director
Daryl is the co-owner and executive director of MBI. He holds a degree in English from The University of Tennessee. In 2003, he opened The Mind/Body Connection with Maj-Lis and ran the day-to-day operations of a massage supply retail store, and he helped to develop and institute a continuing education program approved by NCBTMB in 2005. While Executive Director, he has guided MBI through state approval in 2007, initial accreditation in 2012, and through the approval process for Federal Student Aid in 2014. Affectionately known as our IT guy, he keeps MBI running smoothly from day to day.
Amy E. Dotson, BS, LMT
Director of Education and Lead Instructor
As a graduate of ITMM (MBI), Amy has been a licensed massage therapist since 2003. In the years since graduating massage school, Amy has furthered her education in various areas including receiving her 200 hour RYT in yoga teaching training. Recently she was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Middle Tennessee State University. Amy currently teaches our human anatomy and physiology course along with our pathology course.
Randy Cotterell, LMT
Financial Aid Administrator
Randy worked as the Cash Control Lead for Dollywood for over ten years before training as a massage therapist and opening his own establishment in Sevierville. He also served as the Treasurer of AMTA-TN chapter from 2008-2016. With his move to Middle Tennessee, Randy joined MBI in December of 2015. He is currently the Financial Aid Administrator and office manager extraordinaire!
Brent Harris, LMT
Instructor
Brent has been practicing massage therapy since graduating from MBI in 2008. He completed almost 200 hours of additional training in Travell and Simons' Myofascial Pain and Dysfunction in 2013. He currently operates his own private practice. Brent began teaching at MBI in March 2015. He teaches the Clinical Concepts course that he helped develop.
Blake Mundell, BA, LMT
Instructor
Originally from Colorado, Blake moved to Nashville in 2007. He is a graduate of Belmont University and Mind Body Institute, and now specializes in sports massage and Fascial Stretching Therapy, working with pro athletes of various kinds. Since the 2013 football season he has been on the medical staff of the Tennessee Titans. He has been a part of the MBI teaching team since February of 2018. When he isn't working, you’re likely to find Blake hopping around Nashville’s beach volleyball circuits or playing at your favorite local music venue.
Julia Mims, LMT
Intern Clinic Instructor
Julia Mims is a native of Nashville and discovered massage by working with and on her older sister after basketball games. She attended a local school and graduated with honors in 2004. Julia is a business owner and has assisted others growing their own establishments, and in 2009 she decided to expand into teaching as well. Julia believes in the integration of knowledge and practical experience, and how to incorporate this into every massage. She has been with MBI since January of 2018.
Kim Corwin, LMT
Instructor
A 2008 graduate of the Natural Heath Institute in Nashville Kim comes from a background planted firmly in the dance and movement community. A professional dancer and dance studio owner Kim has always had a passion for movement and the bodies alignment. In addition to being a private practice LMT since 2008 with certification in orthopedic massage she is a NASM certified personal trainer as well as a yoga alliance certified yoga instructor. Adding to her busy life she opened the Donelson Hot Yoga facility in 2018. Kim began teaching Yoga at MBI in 2019.
Bethanie Peadro, BS, LMT
Instructor
Bethanie is originally from Florida, but has been in the Nashville area since 2006. She attended TNU earning her B.S. in Elementary Education and taught 3rd grade English Learners. Since stepping out of the classroom, she focused on her other passion, massage therapy and attending Mind Body Institute. Since graduation in 2018 she has worked to build relationships with clients and building her business. Bethanie started working at MBI in 2021 combining her two passions, teaching and massage therapy. When not working, you'll find her probably training for a race, or traveling, maybe both.
Lori Schrader, LMT
Instructor
In 2000, Lori moved from Illinois to pursue massage therapy at ITMM (MBI). She has been attending massage licensure board meetings since 2006 and was the Government Relations Chair for AMTA-TN chapter from 2008-2021, and is currently Legislative Director for TMTA. Lori is the instructor for our TN Law classes.
